Mental Strength 2023

Date

It’s a brand-new season and I’m still breathing. This year has started roughly trying to figure out a plethora of feelings directly correlated to friendships evolving, love, starting a new job, and dealing with family. I keep pouring into everyone’s ideas, dreams, and goals without a second thought. I’m starting to realize every “YES” to someone else is a “NO” to my higher self. The sad part is when I tell those close to me that I’m sacrificing myself to help them with their goals/aspirations their response is “Don’t worry man you’ll get to it sooner or later”.

The old me would agree with the following statement, but the new evolved me is starting to understand the strength/power in telling those close to me “NO”. Even if that means hurting their feelings in the protection of safeguarding my own. I’ve been pouring into my mental health, physical health, and spiritual journey with God.

One might say everyone says the same thing every year but doesn’t have any results or proof to show. However, I’m a strong believer that with every goal that you set for yourself – whether it be external or internal, you must advise a plan of action to execute. Here are a few things that I’ve been practicing daily to help myself grow daily.

My Helpful Daily Habits to increase my overall being:

  • Getting 7-8hrs of sleep
  • Give gratitude for all the things I bypass like my health, being alive, family and friends
  • 30min morning working out; abs/push-ups (120), Squats with no weights (80), pull-ups (40)
  • Drinking a glass of water
  • Listen to a Podcast (church, sales skills, building wealth)
  • Read 15-30mins
  • 5mins of positive self-talk.

I’m still a work in progress, and I have days where lack the discipline to complete my daily habits. On the days when I feel like I failed myself – I stop and take a deep breath and say “Get back up and try again I was created in the image of God and nothing can’t stop me even on my worst days. To those out there reading this post stay encourage, put yourself first, and never give up!!

With Love,

Adrian O. Thomas
